God Doesn't Waste the Wound

Watching Shannon Savoy Build a Ministry of Healing One Story at a Time

By Dr. Jacquiline Cox

One of the greatest privileges I have as a publisher isn't simply producing books. It's having a front-row seat to watch God transform ordinary obedience into extraordinary impact.

Over the past few years, I've had the honor of publishing several projects with Shannon Savoy, and each one has represented another chapter — not just in her writing, but in her calling. First came The Imposters. Then came Soulology. Now, From the Black Sheep to the Blueprint. To someone browsing a bookstore, these may appear to be three separate books. I don't see three books. I see one ministry unfolding.

I've watched Shannon gracefully survive betrayal. I've watched her endure criticism that had little to do with her character and everything to do with the weight of her calling. Yet through it all, Shannon never allowed bitterness to become her testimony. She continued to serve. She continued to build. She continued to point people back toward healing.

What I admire most about Shannon isn't simply her ability to write. It's her willingness to confront conversations many people — including many churches — still struggle to have. Family dysfunction. Emotional manipulation. Identity after betrayal. Healing that doesn't require pretending the wound never happened.

Watching Shannon's ministry evolve has reminded me that healing isn't an event. It's a process. The Imposters challenged readers to recognize what wasn't authentic. Soulology invited readers inward. Now From the Black Sheep to the Blueprint calls readers to stop wearing labels that were never spoken by God and begin walking in the identity He established long before anyone else's opinion could define them.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." — Romans 8:28 (KJV)

Because when God writes your story, no betrayal is wasted, no detour is meaningless, and no season of suffering is beyond His ability to redeem.
